Founders of Women for Europe Niamh Gallagher and Michelle O’Donnell Keating spent an evening in Brussels with twenty Irish women working for the European Commission. The women, including Catherine Day, general secretary of the European Commission, come from all over Ireland and are keen to get involved in the Women for Europe campaign. Many of the women will be at home on holiday over the summer and will use the time to host coffee mornings in their local areas and explain a little more about what they do in Brussels and how it affects Irish women in the day to day. They have pledged their knowledge and expertise on all things European as a resource to Women for Europe, and have agreed to participate in any way they can in raising European issues up the agenda for Irish women.
We look forward to working more with the group over the coming months.
