Women for Europe hosted an event with European Commissioner for Competition, Neelie Kroes, on July 16th. Watch the video here
Commissioner Kroes spoke to a group of women in the Carmelite Community Centre in Dublin about her career to date, and her experience as a European Commissioner and a woman. Commissioner Kroes described her commitment to the European project, which is rooted in her experience as a child growing up in post-war Holland. She talked about her experience of the transport business and the difference that Europe’s open borders has made to business in all EU countries. She reminded the group what Europe has done for women, and encouraged women to mobilise in support of the Lisbon treaty.
The Commissioner congratulated the Women for Europe initiative, and inspired the group to keep working hard at spreading our message to women across the country.
